5 Days in Miami

So, a scheduled 3 days in Miami quickly turned into 5, and I'm so glad it did. The sole purpose of making the 4.5 hour drive down south from Clearwater was to celebrate New Years Eve with all of my best friends. We all came together from different parts of Florida and met up in Miami for the Dirtybird party that was downtown at Grand Central. We all hopped in a hummer limo and arrived super early to the venue since our friend had an opening set. We got there at 9 p.m. and didn't hail a cab until 4:30 a.m..  I don't think Ive ever brought in a new year quite like 2013. To be surrounded with lovers and friends as the clock strikes midnight almost guarantees that the new year will be a great one.

The next few days were split between recovery and relaxation. On January 1st, I never thought I would've been so thankful for Oprah and her television network. There was a "Life" marathon that was playing all day. Hearing Oprah's voice talk about rare animals was quite the hangover helper.

We also spent a lot of time hanging around the Wynwood area. Hundreds of murals and awesome street art cover most of this neighborhood. If I ever move to Miami, this is the spot I would live in. We had some awesome eats as well in this area. My favorite was Wynwood Kitchen and Bar. It has a tapas style menu and the back patio is equipped with a full on view of a mural that was created for the restaurant by Shepard Fairey. The ambiance of this place really makes it something special.

I'm hoping I will make it back down to Miami sometime in March for WMC (Winter Music Conference). fingers crossed that timing will work out! Xx
